Merry Christmas to all of you, supporters, friends, and family!
As you know, we're in the States for our Home Assignment/Furlough this year. It has been a busy but good 6 months already. Here is a quick recap:
- We arrived in June and immediately set out to get treatment for an ongoing medical need. That is in essence the summary and main focus of our first 3 months in the States, in addition to reconnecting with family and friends in Seattle.
- From Sept - Nov we had the privilege of sharing about the Tigak ministry with some of our supporting churches and individual supporters in Missouri, Kansas, as well as Oak Harbor, WA, Manzanita, OR, and Cannon beach, OR. Naya also turned 10 in September, and Jocie turned 8 in November.
- In November we gave many of our supporters the opportunity to commit to praying for a Tigak believer. Would YOU like to make this same commitment? Prayer is needed for: Single men, single women, and married couples. When you sign up to commit to praying, we will send you a packet with a picture of the believer(s) you've chosen to pray for, as well as some information about them. On our end, we will send you periodic updates/prayer requests for them, and also send you occasional pictures and possibly video clips of them. We also encourage you to write notes of encouragement to them, as well as telling them about you and your family! Please write to us to sign up: firstname.lastname@example.org
- December- we are enjoying the holiday season with family and friends.
UPCOMING SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS:
After Christmas we have the opportunity to share with supporting churches in Turlock, CA (December 31) and Newberg, OR (January 7). We'd love to see if you if you are in those areas- contact us for specifics!
In late January, Noe is taking a solo trip back to PNG to visit the Tigak church and be an encouragement to the believers. Please pray that it will be a fruitful 2-3 weeks! You can follow his trip on Instagram: The Martinez Fam Instagram
REQUEST: For our Seattle area friends- would you consider hosting a 'small group' evening in your home for us to share about Tigak in the next 2-3 months? We would be so grateful, and we look forward to updating you about the Tigak ministry. Please contact us if you are willing to open your home. Thank you! email@example.com
Our hope and plan is to return as a family to PNG in June. To answer a common question, we will be going back to the same place in the Tigak tribe, this time with a full focus on discipleship, now that we are done learning the language!
Thank you to each of you for your prayers, your financial support, and your huge encouragement.
Noe, Lisa, Naya and Jocie
